Welcome Message from TCP Chair, Dr. Felix Kim
Dear TCP members,
I hope that 2021 is off to a great start for you. While the pandemic has presented challenges for all of us, I am impressed by the dedication and positivity of the TCP community through the unprecedented difficulties of 2020. And I am proud of how my colleagues in the TCP Executive Committee have worked over the past year to build and improve our division.
In 2020, the TCP Executive Committee reorganized and streamlined our activities through three working groups/sub-committees: Awards (Co-chaired by Dr. Adam Lauver and myself), Programming (Co-chaired by Drs. Reheman Adili and Ross Corriden), and Communications (Chaired by Dr. Brandi Wynne). The Executive Committee now comprises 10 full members along with a new postdoctoral representative (Dr. Mohamed Ghonim), and we have recruited 7talented and enthusiastic new junior members to work with our leadership in these sub-committees (Drs. Deborah Luessen, Jia Nong, Robert Helsley, Shankar Munusamy, Christian Fernandez, Katharine Williams, and Michelle Nie).
Of note among our efforts, we have implemented a plan to replenish and rebuild the Ray Fuller Fund - the fund that was started to support the biennial Ray Fuller Lecture - over the next several years so that it will ultimately be a self-sustaining endowment. Our plan and strategy to accomplish this goal was endorsed by ASPET Council in late 2020. We believe that this is crucial to maintaining and growing the prominence of the Ray Fuller Lecture, both for ASPET as well as TCP.
Connecting and supporting each other has never been more important. Please continue to communicate and collaborate with one another, and please do not hesitate to contact us. Let us know by email or via ASPETConnect whenever you have any questions, suggestions, announcement of accomplishments or other news, or would like to start any discussions, scientific or other.
