Oral administration of the dopamine D4 antagonist, L-745,870 in combination with L-DOPA significantly alleviates dyskinesia. Importantly, the anti-dyskinetic efficacy was achieved without compromising L-DOPA anti-parkinsonian benefit, thereby identifying D4 receptors as a promising target for dyskinesia.
