On Friday April 20, 2012, attendees at the EB 2012 meeting spent the day volunteering at Father Joe’s Villages in San Diego. An annual volunteer opportunity at EB is organized by the Behavioral Pharmacology Division of ASPET. This year volunteers prepared and served breakfast and lunch to more than 500 guests and painted hallways in a residence hall at the Village. Started more than 60 years ago as a small chapel serving San Diego’s impoverished, Father Joe’s Villages is now the largest provider of homeless services in Southern California and supplies food, clothing, housing, healthcare, education, job training, and child development to more than 2000 individuals each day.
