Congratulations, 2011 Award Winners

The Molecular Pharmacology Division congratulates the 2011 winners of the annual Postdoctoral Best Abstract Competition and Graduate Student Best Abstract Competition, presented at the Experimental Biology meeting in Washington, D.C.

The Postdoctoral winners are First place- Benita Sjogren, University of Michigan (Advisor- Richard Neubig); Second place- Mikel Garcia-Marcos, University of California, San Diego- (Advisor-Marilyn Farquhar); Third place- Karen Kassel, University of Kansas Medical Center (Advisor- James Luyendyk).  Dr. Paul Insel was the keynote speaker for the symposium.

The Graduate student winners, shown receiving their awards from Molecular Pharmacology division President David Port, are First place – Meital Gabay, University of Rochester.  Runners up- Tracy Thennes (University of Illinois at Chicago), Kevin Bigham (Medical University of South Carolina), Wei Kan (University of Rochester), and Chuu-Yun Wong (Creighton University School of Medicine).
