The Society of Toxicology (SOT) recently honored a trio of ASPET members at
the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo for their important achievements.
SOT’s Annual Meeting was held March 10-14, in San Antonio, TX.
Sidhartha D. Ray, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of the Department of
Pharmaceutical Sciences at Manchester University (Fort Wayne, IN), received the 2013 Undergraduate Educator Award for “his outstanding
contributions to the teaching of undergraduate students in toxicology
and toxicology-related areas” (1).
Rick G. Schnellmann, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of the Department of
Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences at the Medical University of
South Carolina (Charleston, SC), received the 2013 SOT Education Award
for “his distinguished teaching and training of toxicologists and for
his significant contributions to education in the broad field of
toxicology” (1).
F. Peter Guengerich, Ph.D., Stanford Moore Professor of
Biochemistry at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (Nashville, TN), received the 2013 SOT Merit Award for “recognition of
his distinguished contributions to toxicology throughout his entire
career” (1).
