The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics
(ASPET) is a 4,800 member scientific
society whose members conduct basic and clinical pharmacological research in
academia, industry and the government. Our members research efforts help
develop new medicines and therapeutic agents to fight existing and emerging
diseases.
ASPET Governance
ASPET is governed by an elected Council consisting of a President, Past President, President-elect, Secretary/Treasurer, Past Secretary/Treasurer, Secretary/Treasurer-elect, and three Councilors. The Chair of the Board of Publications Trustees, the Chair of the Program Committee, the ASPET representative to the FASEB Board and the Executive Officer serve as non-voting ex officio members of the Council.

ASPET COUNCIL OF DIVISION CHAIRS (formerly the Scientific Council)
The purpose of the Scientific Council is to facilitate activities of the Divisions, particularly related to development of Divisional programs, and to interact closely with ASPET Council. The Scientific Council represents an opportunity for divisional representatives to learn from each other and to make recommendations in regards to ASPET programs and activities to the ASPET Council. Division chairs in alternate years serve two-year terms. The Past President of ASPET chairs the Scientific Council. The President of ASPET, Chair of the Program Committee, and Executive Officer serve as ex officio members of the Scientific Council.
