Travel Awards to EB '10

Travel Award Terms and Procedures for 2010
Terms:
Graduate Student Travel Awards, Minority Graduate Student Travel
Awards, and Summer Undergraduate Student Travel Awards are a fixed sum of $600
plus registration.
Young Scientist Travel Awards and Minority Young Scientist Travel
Awards are a fixed sum of $600 plus registration. All travel awards are
inclusive of registration and are given to
partially defray the costs of travel and housing. The
check for the award and an award certificate will be presented at
the ASPET Opening Awards Ceremony on April 18.
Procedures:
Applications must be
submitted electronically online or as email attachments.
Applications will be available in late September 2008.

Experimental Biology '10
Graduate Student Best Abstract Awards
Deadline for receipt at ASPET: November 17,
2009
Eligibility Criteria:
Student must be presenting an abstract at the Experimental Biology ' meeting in Anaheim, CA.
Student must be sponsored by a Regular or Affiliate member of ASPET.
Student must be a member of ASPET or have submitted an application for membership at the time of applying for the award.
Applications should be made to the Division to which research applies.
You may apply for only ONE Best Abstract Award (this includes either the DDDRA Young Investigator Award, OR the Graduate Student Best Paper Award).
Criteria used to judge the awards vary among Divisions. The Division to which your abstract is submitted will contact you regarding any special judging criteria and times for presentation. Not all Divisions may present awards every year.
You will be notified when the awards will be presented.
Application Procedure:
Application must be made by November 17, 2009 either by electronic submission, or by emailing the application as an attachment to paperawards@aspet.org.
Type or cut & paste your abstract and your CV into the space provided on the form. If your CV is too large for the space provided, email it as an attachment to paperawards@aspet.org.
You must provide your sponsor's email address on the application form. The ASPET office will email your sponsor for his/her endorsement of your application.
Select Division:
Travel awards for graduate students to attend EB '10 are available on a competitive basis. Apply for these awards using the Graduate Student Travel Award or the Minority Graduate Student Travel Award Application.

Postdoctoral Scientist Awards

Applicant must be sponsored by a Regular member of ASPET. Applicants who are Regular members of ASPET may sponsor themselves.
Applicant must be a member or ASPET or have submitted an application for membership at the time of applying for the award.

Student must be sponsored by a Regular or Affiliate member of ASPET. Applicants who are Regular or Affiliate members of ASPET may sponsor themselves.
Applicant must be a member of ASPET or have submitted an application for membership at the time of applying for the award.
Applicants may, but do not need to, have a Ph.D. or M.D. Applicants from industry are encouraged to apply.
For the purposes of this competition, a young investigator is defined as an undergraduate, graduate or medical student, or an individual who was awarded a doctoral degree less than 4 years earlier.
You may apply for only ONE Best Abstract Award (this includes the DDDRA Young Investigator Award, the DM Young Investigator Award, the Graduate Student Best Abstract Award, OR the Young Scientist Award).
Applicants will be contacted regarding any special judging criteria and times for presentation. You will be notified when the awards will be presented.
