ASPET Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow Travel Award Application 

to Experimental Biology ’08 in San Diego, CA  from April 5 – 9, 2008

Deadline for receipt at ASPET:  December 1, 2007

The Award:

1. The sum of $1000 to partially defray the costs of travel and subsistence.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Applicant must have been an ASPET SURF Fellow in the summer of 2007.  Both Individual and Institutional SURF Fellows are eligible.
    

2. A student member of ASPET or an applicant for membership (completed membership application may be submitted with travel award application).
    

3. Must be an author of an abstract submitted for the EB ‘08 Meeting in San Diego, CA, but does not have to be first author.

 Required Materials:

    Applicant:

1. Application form, either submitted via the web, or sent as an email attachment to travelawards@aspet.org
    

2. One completed copy of an ASPET membership application (if not already a member or pending member), including signed sponsor statement of qualifications or nomination letter.

     Program Director or Sponsor:

Your Program may submit any number of eligible nominees for a Travel Award.  One or more students may receive an Award, depending on the availability of funds.  You will be notified which students received a travel award.

 Terms of the Award:

The award shall consist of:

1. Undergraduate students get free registration but they must register on-site at the meeting.
    

2. Required attendance at the Graduate Student Colloquium on April 5
    

3. The check for the award and the award certificate will be presented at the ASPET Business Meeting &  Awards Presentation on April 5.  Attendance is required.
    

4.  The full Award will be voided if the student does not attend the Graduate Student Colloquium and the EB meeting.
