ASPET's Division for Drug Discovery, Development and Regulatory Affairs (DDDRA) invites young pharmacologists to participate in the DDDRA Young Investigator Award competition. Young pharmacologists are encouraged to submit abstracts of research related to the processes of drug discovery, development and regulatory affairs that involve the drug industry, biotech companies, government agencies, research institutes and universities for consideration. For the purposes of this competition, a young investigator is defined as an undergraduate, graduate or medical student or an individual who was awarded a doctoral degree less than 4 years earlier. The process for submitting abstracts is described on the ASPET website (www.aspet.org).
Applicants for the DDDRA Young Investigator Award must be presenting a paper at the Experimental Biology '07 meetings in Washington DC and must display their poster at the Student-Mentor Mixer. Judging will be held during the Student-Mentor Mixer. First, second, and third place award winners will be announced at the Mixer.
The award winners will receive a cash award in the amount of $300 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place. The first place award winner is eligible to receive a complimentary registration and a stipend up to $1000 for travel, hotel and meals to attend the EB '08 meeting. In addition, the first place award winner will be invited to participate in DDDRA as a member of the DDDRA Executive Committee for the year after receiving the award.
