Committee on Mentoring Career and Development

The mission of the Committee on Mentoring and Career Development is to promote a diverse pharmacology workforce through programs at the annual ASPET meeting, and mentoring and career development services to ASPET members throughout the year.

Charge

  • Organize the Graduate Student/Postdoc Colloquium on career development topics at the annual meeting;
  • Establish and maintain effective mentoring programs for ASPET scientists;
  • Plan and organize activities to promote inclusion and diversity within ASPET, including but not limited to, the Diversity Mentoring Breakfast for underrepresented minority travel awardees and their mentors at the EB meeting, overseeing judging for the minority graduate student posters at the EB meeting for the Dolores Shockley Award, and organizing special lectures and/or networking events;
  • Develop mentoring and career development activities and curricula available to ASPET members beyond the EB meeting via the website or local chapter activities.
