The recently passed
continuing resolution (CR) will extend FY26 funding until December 11, 2026,
preventing another government shutdown. Included in the CR is bipartisan
language that would prohibit OMB from finalizing its Federal Assistance
Guidelines rulemaking until at least December 11. This is a major win for the
science community as it postpones the rule, buying more time for continued
advocacy to have the rule withdrawn in its entirety. Your advocacy, whether by
submitting comments to OMB, contacting your members of Congress, talking with
your colleagues and neighbors about the impact of the proposed rule, had a
DIRECT impact on this legislation. ASPET will continue to work and advocate for
the withdrawal of the rulemaking and making your voice heard.
