We strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible for a travel visa. If you have submitted an abstract to an ASPET topic category, you can assume that it will be programmed as a poster and you can move forward with any visa paperwork. If you need a letter of invitation, you can print one out at the end of the registration process after registering for your badge.
International Travel to Chicago
O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is one of the busiest hub airports in the US. It offers non-stop flights to 58 international destinations as of June 2016.
In 2014, O'Hare unveiled its new International Terminal #5. Key features include:
- Twenty-four new luxury retail and dining destinations, including 11 local Chicago brands.
- A redesigned TSA checkpoint.
- A new 10,000-square-foot flagship duty-free store, the first of its kind in North America.
- Luxury restrooms, dynamic lounge-style seating with outlets and USB ports, and new lighting and signage that incorporate recycled materials.
Midway International Airport (MDW) offers non-stop travel to 9 international destinations with 13 daily departures as of June 2016. These include Toronto, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and 6 locations in Mexico.
Springtime in Chicago means blooming flowers and a lively lakefront. Temperatures really start to warm up with April typically in the 50's °F (10-15°C) and May up to around 70°F (21°C). Rainfall averages 3.5 - 3.8 inches (92 - 94mm).
