Education Service Opportunities for DPE Members

DPE Executive Committee

The Division for Pharmacology Education (DPE) announces the opportunity to apply to serve on the DPE Executive Committee (EC). We are looking for engaged and enthusiastic educators who share a passion for pharmacology education at all levels (undergraduate, graduate, professional). Applicants need to be primary members of DPE (this can be updated online in your ASPET member profile). We strive for committee diversity on multiple levels and new members will be selected to fill gaps created by members completing their terms. At least one trainee member will be appointed to the committee.

Expectations:

1. Be a primary DPE member
2. Attend the DPE Executive Committee meeting and the DPE Business meeting, both of which occur during the ASPET Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology (EB)
3. Participate in Executive Committee conference calls
4. Volunteer to judge best presentation awards and/or other competitive applications, if needed
5. Attend DPE sessions during the ASPET Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology
6. Be engaged, active, and enthusiastic

Chair-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer-Elect

The Division for Pharmacology Education (DPE) also announces the opportunity to self-nominate for the positions of Chair-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer-Elect. Executive Committee experience is helpful and preferred, but is not required. A slate of officers will be created from nominated individuals. The slate must include at least one candidate for each position, but can include more than one candidate. Elections will occur in late fall 2016.

The Chair-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer-Elect will serve 1 year working with the current officers before taking over for a 2 year term as Chair and Secretary/Treasurer. Terms begin July 1, 2017-June 30, 2018 (elect) followed by July 1, 2018-June 30, 2020.

Expectations:

1. Be a primary DPE member
2. Attend the DPE Executive Committee meeting and the DPE Business meeting at Experimental Biology during the three years you would be officer
3. Lead/participate in Executive Committee conference calls
4. Volunteer to judge best presentation awards and/or other competitive applications, if needed
5. Work with the other officers to lead the division
6. Attend DPE sessions during the ASPET Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology
7. Be engaged, active, and enthusiastic
