At the end of an eventful official first day of EB 2017, attendees from all societies could unwind at the first ever inter-disciplinary welcome reception. The event was held in the Skyline Ballroom W375E from 7 pm until 8:30 pm, and it was impressive to see just how many people this event brought together. Light refreshments were served, including hamburger sliders and cheese plates, and attendees were able to bond and make new acquaintances while waiting in line for these complimentary items. The atmosphere was lively and the energy in the room was palpable as registrants talked about the day’s events as well as those to follow over the duration of the conference. An impressive display with bags of handcrafted popcorn from local shop Garrett popcorn shops proved to be very popular, and members were even able to take pictures with the ASPET donkey at the event.
