Molecular Pharmacology Highlighted Trainee Author, July 2019

Kinz PhotoKinsie E. Arnst is the Molecular Pharmacology Highlighted Trainee Author for the July 2019 issue. Dr. Arnst is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and her highlighted work was done at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Tennessee Health Science Center where her graduate mentor was Dr. Wei Li.  The Molecular Pharmacology article that earned her selection as a Highlighted Trainee Author is titled “Colchicine Binding Site Agent DJ95 Overcomes Drug Resistance and Exhibits Antitumor Efficacy” and is available at https://doi.org/10.1124/mol.118.114801.

Dr. Arnst’s area of research is in drug discovery and cancer biology.  Her current research is determining the biological efficacy of novel tubulin inhibitors.  

The anticipated impact of Dr. Arnst’s research is that it will contribute to understanding and development of tubulin targeting agents that can overcome multidrug resistance in cancer.

When not in the lab, Kinsie enjoys scuba diving, snowboarding and traveling.
