Jiayi Yin

Jiayi Yin is the Drug Metabolism and Disposition Highlighted Trainee Author for the January 2022 issue. Ms. Yin is a Ph.D. candidate from the Institute of Drug Metabolism and Pharmaceutical Analysis, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, at Zhejiang University under the supervision of Professor Su Zeng and Professor Feng Zhu. The Drug Metabolism and Disposition article that earned her selection as a Highlighted Trainee Author is titled “Feature, Function, and Information of Drug Transporter Related Databases” and is available at https://doi.org/10.1124/dmd.121.000419.

Ms. Yin’s area of research is the construction of pharmaceutical knowledge bases and the revealing of the molecular mechanism underlying drug resistance based on artificial intelligence (AI). She is the main developer of two popular databases in the area of drug metabolism and disposition: VARIDT (https://idrblab.org/varidt/) and INTEDE (https://idrblab.org/intede/). The data accumulated in these two databases have laid the foundation for big data-driven precision medicine and been widely applied in and highly cited by many ADMDT-related studies.

Her current work provided an overview of the whole collection of drug transporter (DT)-related databases, which could facilitate research on precision medicine and rational drug use. The anticipated impact of Ms. Yin’s research is to help improve the use of DT-related databases for comprehensive analysis of drug transporters and to provide better insights for clinical treatment and new ideas for revealing drug transporter-related drug resistance.

When not in the lab, Jiayi enjoys traveling, hiking, and running.
