ASPET President-Elect Namandjé N. Bumpus, PhD Elected to the National Academy of Medicine

Congratulations to President-Elect Namandjé N. Bumpus, PhD, for her election to the National Academy of Medicine. This honor recognizes individuals who have demonstrated commitment to service and outstanding professional achievement. It is one of the highest honors bestowed on an individual in the field of medicine. 

Dr. Bumpus began her term as ASPET's President-Elect in July 2022. She is currently the chief scientist for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and professor of pharmacology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is recognized for her pioneering and seminal work in the fields of drug metabolism and antiviral pharmacology, and for advancing health equity through the translation of fundamental drug metabolism studies to the prediction of drug outcomes in humans.
