Jing Jin is the Drug Metabolism and Disposition Highlighted Trainee Author for the June 2023 issue. She is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Connecticut, working under the guidance of her mentor, Dr. Xiao-bo Zhong.

The DMD article that earned her selection as a Highlighted Trainee Author is titled “Epigenetic Mechanisms Contribute to Intraindividual Variations of Drug Metabolism Mediated by Cytochrome P450 Enzymes” and is available here: https://doi.org/10.1124/dmd.122.001007.

Ms. Jin’s research focuses on genetics and epigenetics in drug metabolism, specifically exploring the roles and mechanisms of epigenetic factors in regulating P450-mediated drug metabolism. Her work has the potential to provide a better understanding of how intraindividual variations of P450-mediated drug metabolism are generated by epigenetic factors and to guide the development of clinical applications for precision CYP-based medicine with improved therapeutic efficacy and reduced risk of adverse drug reactions and toxicity.

Outside of her research, Jing enjoys attending musical concerts and exercising. She also enjoys spending time with friends, family, and pets.
