ASPET currently offers several member publications that inspire, inform and educate readers about the field of pharmacology and the Society. Beginning in September 2023, several notable changes and updates will take effect regarding the offerings of these publications. Changes include:
- The quarterly member magazine, The Pharmacologist, will cease to be published in a printed format and will switch to an online-only format. The September 2023 issue will be the final issue of the printed version. We will then be on hiatus for the remainder of 2023 and resume publication on a monthly schedule beginning in January 2024. We do recognize that there are members who have a paid printed subscription for 2023. Our membership team will be reaching out to paid subscribers to offer several options for handling their remaining funds, including a credit toward their 2024 membership, a donation to the Young Scientist Travel Fund or a refund. - The monthly newsletter NewsBrief will be discontinued after the October 2023 issue. The content will be incorporated into the online-only version of The Pharmacologist, scheduled for its first issue in January 2024.
- A new monthly blog publication titled Pharmaco Corner will begin in September 2023. This blog will focus on issues that affect ASPET members and will be written by members and other guest bloggers. Stay tuned for information about becoming a contributing writer.
- Also beginning in September 2023 is a new newsletter titled Advocacy Brief. This monthly publication will focus on updates on legislative and science policy news.
ASPET hopes these changes will continue to offer members the opportunity to grow and learn in their careers, while fostering various platforms for discussion and the exchange of ideas.
