About Travel
The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is about 3.5 miles from the downtown hotels and the convention center. Over 20 airlines operate almost 600 domestic, international and commercial flights in and out of the airport daily. Visit www.SAN.org for operating airlines and nonstop service routes.
If traveling by train, the Santa Fe Depot, located one mile from the convention center, is the main hub for Amtrak. Admire the Pacific views as you curl along the Southern California coast by train from downtown San Diego to Oceanside, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and many places in between. Getting from the Airport to Downtown
Taxicabs are typically plentiful at the airport. From baggage claim, follow signs leading to Transportation Plazas and there an airport transportation coordinator will place you in the first available taxi. Fares to downtown can range from $15-23 for an estimated 15 minute ride. Most cab companies accept credit cards and do not charge extra for up to 3 additional passengers.
Several airport shuttle companies operate from the airport’s Transportation Plazas across from Terminal 1 and 2, and curbside at the Commuter Terminal with an airport transportation coordinator available to assist you. Rates vary. Visit the Parking and Transportation section at www.SAN.org
Airfare Discounts
