Nayara Emidio_250x300

Nayara Braga Emidio is the Molecular Pharmacology Highlighted Trainee Author for the March 2024 issue. Emidio is a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institutes of Health. The Molecular Pharmacology article that earner her the selection as a Highlighted Trainee Author is titled “Nanobody-Mediated Dualsteric Engagement of the Angiotensin Receptor Broadens Biased Ligand Pharmacology” and is available at https://doi.org/10.1124/molpharm.123.000797.

Emidio wants her work with nanobody-ligand conjugates to inspire others to explore the vast potential of neutral allosteric pharmacophores with other receptors. By extending the concept of dualsteric ligands to other receptors, she hopes the findings in her research catalyze the discovery of unique molecular mechanisms. More broadly, she hopes these discoveries aid the development of innovative therapeutics with advantageous properties that could lead to improved clinical outcomes.
