Deborah Luessen is a 5th year PhD candidate and preclinical neuropharmacologist studying the mechanisms of substance use disorders at Wake Forest School of Medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Rong Chen. She will be pursuing her postdoctoral training in
the laboratory of Dr. Jeffrey Conn at Vanderbilt University studying novel compounds for the treatment of schizophrenia and mood disorders. She is currently an ASPET Neuropharmacology Student Ambassador with a passion for science communication and
mental health advocacy.
