New AHRQ Director Chosen

The Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ), has selected Dr. Andrew Bindman as new Director 

The Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ), has selected Dr. Andrew Bindman as the new Director; he assumed his post on May 2nd.  Previously, Bindman worked as a doctor at San Francisco General Hospital, advised HHS and CMS on improvements to data analytics for Medicaid, and served as an RWJF fellow on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. In a statement to Politico, HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell said: "As AHRQ director, Dr. Bindman will drive the Agency's three core missions of producing research and evidence to improve the quality and safety of health care and the functioning of the health care system, producing tools and training materials to make sure that evidence is understood and used, and investing in data and measures used by providers, patients, and policy makers."
