Dear DCP Division Members and Colleagues,
We need your help to achieve our goal of making the ASPET Annual Meeting the place to discover and to present the highest quality, innovative science in pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. Although we all are preparing for the 2019 meeting, it is also time to think ahead and plan an excellent agenda for EB 2020.
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Division for Cancer Pharmacology, we are soliciting topics for symposia to be presented at the ASPET Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology 2020 in San Diego, CA, April 4-8, 2020. These symposia present opportunities to highlight the most current and cutting-edge research from industry and academia. Symposia offer a stage to present your research and promote scientific exchange as well as opportunities to develop new research ideas and collaborations. We urge you to submit a topic aligned with your research interests and engage with colleagues in productive exchange of scientific ideas.
All DCP investigators and trainees are encouraged to submit a full proposal for a symposium. Our division is interested in multidisciplinary themes that may attract participation from other ASPET divisions and other EB societies. Below is a list of suggested topics although proposals around other topics are also welcome. We encourage you to be creative!
- Technology and Tumor heterogeneity – promise or hype?
- Cancer metastasis and minimal residual disease
- Resistance to chemotherapy – acquired and intrinsic
- Genomic instability and cancer
- Challenges of Academic Drug Discovery in Cancer
- Autophagy and other survival programs in cancer
- Systems Biology and -omics in cancer
To propose a symposium, submit your proposal by using the online submission platform. If you have division-based symposium questions,such as: What constitutes a successful proposal?, Do named speakers need to be confirmed?, Can anyone be invited? - please contact bjornsti@uab.edu.
Please note that all proposals must be submitted by 5:00 pm ET on March 1, 2019 so that they may be reviewed at the ASPET Program Committee meeting at EB 2019 in Orlando.
