Dr. Webb’s academic home is in the Department Cell Biology and Anatomy.  His research interests include:  1) the pharmacology of the vasculature in hypertension and sexual dysfunction; 2) the role of Rho-kinase in the vasculature; 3) calcium signaling and contraction in the vasculature; and 4) the function of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) in hypertension and sexual dysfunction.  He has been a member of ASPET for 35 years participating in both the Cardiovascular Pharmacology (CVP) and Translational and Clinical Pharmacology (TCP) Divisions.  He is a past-chair of the Division for TCP and is past-chair of the CVP Awards Committee.  He was a Field Editor of JPET from 1993-98 and has served on the Graduate Student Convocation and Graduate Recruitment and Education Committee of ASPET.

Dr. Nancy Kanagy

Nancy Kanagy

Dr. Nancy Kanagy was recently named Chair of the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at UNM School of Medicine.  She is the first woman to hold this position.  In addition to Chair, Dr. Kanagy is a tenured professor and leads a successful research program where she investigates mechanisms associated with endothelial function on blood pressure regulation and hypertension. When asked what the toughest part about the position has been so far, she replied: “Running the department virtually. It makes it difficult when we can’t stop by each other's offices to chat."  Dr. Kanagy is a long-standing ASPET Division for CVP member and former Executive Committee member. She just received her 25-year ASPET membership certificate! Congratulations, Dr. Kanagy, on your new leadership position!
