ASPET is a sponsor of the Rally for Medical Research, a yearly event that calls on the nation’s policymakers to prioritize funding for the National Institutes of Health. ASPET science policy staff will be attending various sessions on Capitol Hill on September 13 -14.

ASPET President Namandjé N. Bumpus, PhD, commented on the importance of advocating for science research:

“Biomedical research is how we uncover scientific knowledge that has led to and leads to discoveries that are essential for the understanding of diseases, their prevention, treatment and overall improving the health of all people. A robust and well-resourced biomedical research enterprise is foundational and essential to advancing public health.”
