Xingyu Zhu, a PhD candidate at National University of Singapore, is the Drug Metabolism and Disposition Highlighted Trainee Author for June 2025.
The article that earned him the selection is titled “Development of human embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes and application of fluorescence probe substrate for characterization of cytochrome P450 enzyme 2J2” and is available at: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.dmd.2025.100053.
Xingyu’s research focuses on “understanding how certain genetic differences in our DNA can influence heart rhythm and affect how individuals respond to medications. By understanding how genetic variation contributes to disease and treatment response, we can begin to design safer, more targeted therapies that are tailored to the individual, reducing risks and improving outcomes for patients with heart disease.”
