Along with nearly 400 other organizations and institutions, ASPET endorses the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research of at least $49 billion for NIH for Fiscal Year 2023.  This level of funding would promote the sustained, robust growth necessary to make consequential progress against pressing health challenges.  Importantly, this recommendation strongly urges lawmakers to ensure that any funding for the new Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) supplement the $49 billion recommendation for NIH's base budget, rather than supplant the essential foundational investment in the NIH.
