Beginning on August 28, 2019, Drug Metabolism and Disposition will no longer be accepting submissions under the "Short Communication" article type. Despite efforts over the past few years by the editors and editorial board to improve this format for publishing more focused and impactful research findings, the articles have continued to be a small percentage of total manuscript submissions, and to fall short of the goal for impact. We hope that the drug metabolism research community continues to use the research article format for manuscript submissions.
