Congratulations to the DDD Division Poster Competition Winners

The Division for Drug Discovery and Development would like to recognize our young scientists who attended the ASPET Annual Meeting at EB 2021 and participated in our poster competition.  The judges were very impressed with the science and presentations this year.

Poster Competition Awards

Each year, the ASPET Student-Postdoc Poster Competition showcases and recognizes the highest quality scientific work submitted by ASPET’s young scientist members. Congratulations to the 2021 winners:

Undergraduate Student:

1st place: Christopher Honeycutt, Duke University
“Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Regulation of NF-κB by GPCRs through the modulation of interactions between p65/RelA and the β-arrestins.”

Graduate and Post-baccalaureate Students:

1st place: Jacqueline Silva, University of Texas Medical Branch
“Bromodomain-Containing Protein 4 (BRD4) Inhibitors as Emerging Therapeutics for Opioid Use Disorder.”

2nd place: Yuma Ortiz, University of Florida, College of Pharmacy
“Evaluation of the Terpenes β-caryophyllene, α-terpineol, and γ-terpinene in the Mouse Chronic Constriction Injury Model of Neuropathic Pain: Possible Cannabinoid Receptor Involvement.”

3rd place: Julia Rocereta, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke
“Optimization of ML321: a D2 dopamine receptor-selective antagonist for the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders.”

Postdoctoral Scientist:

1st place: Daniela Dengler, SBP Medical Discovery Institute
“Discovery of Small Molecule Modulators targeting Secretin Receptors.”
