ASPET is proud to announce that we are one of 6 recipients of a catalytic “mini-grant” from ACCESS+ (Amplifying the Alliance to Catalyze Change for Equity in STEM Success). ACCESS+, a multi-society collaboration funded by the National Science Foundation, seeks to help its cohort societies advance their inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility efforts by sharing best practices, exchanging knowledge and resources, and supporting action plans. ASPET will use this funding to revise and upgrade the demographic data we are collecting via our member records. This is an area of focus identified by ASPET’s IDEA Task Force, and reflects that evidence-based progress in IDEA relies on the depth and quality of information we have about our membership. More details about ACCESS+ and the funding recipients can be found on their webpage. ASPET’s Director of Education, Catherine Fry, PhD, will serve as the main point of contact for the grant, and will work closely with the IDEA Task Force and ASPET’s membership team on the project.
