A special section entitled “New Therapeutic Targets for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Related Sequelae” is being planned for publication in the December 2024 issue of The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.

This JPET special section will provide a dedicated forum for original research on potential new therapies for PTSD and/or any associated comorbid conditions. These may include depression, substance use disorder, pain, anxiety, cardiovascular disease, sleep disorder and traumatic brain injury. A limited number of commentaries and/or minireview articles addressing the new approach or lack of therapies for comorbid conditions with PTSD, also will be considered.   

Article proposals, including title, abstract, significance statement and full author information, should be submitted as a pre-submission inquiry to The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. These proposals should be sent to the special section guest editors, Dr. Kelly Standifer and Dr. Susan Wood, who will assess whether final approval will be granted for full submission.

The submission deadline is April 1, 2024 and all submissions must refer to the journal’s Instructions to Authors. There are no submission fees or page charges for publishing in this special section, and accepted manuscripts will be published immediately online.
