Gavin Traber, PhD, who recently earned his degree from the University of California’s Davis School of Medicine, is the Molecular Pharmacology Highlighted Trainee Author for the January 2025 issue.

The MolPharm article that earned him the selection as highlighted Trainee Author is titled “Bioengineered mir-7-5p Modulates Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer Cell Metabolism to Improve Therapy” and is available at: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.molpha.2024.100006

Gavin’s study helps to establish the pharmacological actions, therapeutic potential, and molecular functions of microRNA-7 as well as the reliability and robustness of this novel RNA molecular bioengineering platform technology to allow in vivo fermentation production of target BioRNA/miRNA agents. He hopes that his research will provide a step forward in the use of microRNAs and other non-coding RNAs as novel therapeutic strategies.

Check out this month’s issue of The Pharmacologist to learn more about Gavin and his research.
