NEU Member Announcement: Dr. Wael Mohamed

Wael MohamedWael Mohamed, MD, PhD, an assistant professor in the Basic Medical Science Department of the International Islamic University in Pahang, Malaysia recently received, in conjunction with two other collaborators from India and Singapore, an ASEAN-India collaborative grant to explore exosomal miRNAs in different genetic mutations as potential prognosis biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease (PD). Dr. Mohamed’s group focuses on the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders, especially PD, using animal models to examine the underlying pathophysiological changes as well as possible therapeutic targets associated with PD.

Dr. Mohamed has been a member of ASPET since 2008 and is a member of the Divisions for Neuropharmacology, Behavioral Pharmacology, and Translational and Clinical Pharmacology.
