NAS New Member Election

Congratulations to ASPET member Dr. Krzysztof Palczewski Congratulations to ASPET member Dr. Krzysztof Palczewski who is a newly elected member of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Palczewski is an Irving H. Leopold Professor and director of the Center for Translational Vision Research, department of ophthalmology, physiology, and biophysics, at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Palczewski was awarded ASPET’s 2022 Goodman & Gilman Award in Receptor Pharmacology at Experimental Biology 2022 in Philadelphia. 

The National Academy of Sciences is a private, nonprofit institution providing expert advice on critical, scientific challenges facing our world. The NAS creates sound policies, informs public opinion, and advances science. 

Dr. Palczewski is one of 120 members and 30 international newly elected members recognized for their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. There are currently about 3,000 members worldwide.
