The editorial board of The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (JPET), in collaboration with the ASPET Young Scientist Committee, is offering the JPET Minireview Initiative to foster the research writing skills of ASPET trainees.

This program aims to provide the opportunity for early-career scientists to publish their thesis research introduction/critical review on the latest scientific findings as a minireview article. This unique initiative targets senior graduate students and junior postdoctoral fellows to enhance their overall scientific training skills and increase their exposure to the publication system.

Under this initiative, the JPET editorial board will accept submissions for minireview articles, specifically from ASPET graduate students and postdocs, in collaboration with their mentors as corresponding authors. The JPET Minireview should be between 4000-6000 words and will go through JPET's standard review process. There is no limitation on the number of references. Additional Information can be found on our website.

Please send a pre-submission inquiry including title, author information, abstract and significance statement to JPET prior to full submission. Editor-in-Chief Dr. Beverley Greenwood-Van Meerveld and Mini-reviews Editor Dr. Joe Blumer, will review these inquiries, respond to the authors' comments and assess whether final approval will be granted for a full submission.

There are no submission fees or page charges for publishing a minireview as part of this initiative, and the accepted minireview will be published immediately online.
