The Division for Pharmacology Education (DPE) serves to promote rational therapeutics by facilitating the development of pedagogical skills in pharmacology educators and promoting educational research in pharmacology. Our primary focus is on pharmacology teaching and learning by graduate and health sciences students. The DPE also inducts new members into the Academy of Pharmacology Educators, which recognizes outstanding achievement in pharmacology education, scholarship, service and leadership.

Division Goals

  • To foster educational scholarship, including research and publication, by all scientists, especially those who are primarily pharmacology educators.
  • To strengthen the role and increase the collective voice of pharmacology educators in ASPET.
  • To foster linkages between the DPE and other divisions of ASPET, with the Association of Medical School Pharmacology Chairs, and with other FASEB societies.
  • To support travel for pharmacology educators to attend the annual ASPET
