ASPET GASP Roadshow

Science to Action

Are you interested in learning how your organization can best advocate for science policy with elected officials, educational or industry decision-makers, or the general public? ASPET’s government affairs staff will visit you and your staff, or meet with you virtually, and provide on-hands guidance on how your voice can be heard.

What does the Roadshow include?

The training consists of a custom, interactive workshop, ranging from 90 minutes to three hours. Participants will learn the following:

  • Elevator Policy: How to develop an elevator pitch that will resonate with non-expert staffers
  • Anatomy of a Meeting: A step-by-step walkthrough of meetings with decision makers on all levels, either virtual or in-person
  • Demystifying the Hill: An analysis of how Congress functions regarding policy and advocacy efforts, and how to identify key times to petition for funding

These sessions are customizable, and can be tailored to those policy areas of most interest to you and your team, whether that’s focusing on legislative advocacy and strategies, engaging with regulatory bodies, or more.

What does it cost?

There is no charge to host the ASPET GASP Roadshow although, for an in-person session, the host will be expected to provide an appropriate space.

Are there any restrictions?

This training is limited to US policy.

This offer is only available to ASPET members. If you’re not an ASPET member, but interested in joining, visit our membership page to learn about all of the benefits available to active members.
