My coworkers and I have studied vasopressin for more than 4 decades. We have examined the peptide’s distribution, biosynthesis, receptors, and activities. Based on these studies we decided to synthesize receptor antagonists and agonists. We believe that these may be useful to humans and have embarked on clinical trials.
