Pooja Hegde is the Drug Metabolism and Disposition Highlighted Trainee Author for the August 2024 issue. Hedge is a postdoctoral research scientist at Eli Lilly and Company.

Her research project aims to identify the involvement of additional mechanisms underlying apparent pharmacokinetic changes in organic anion transporting polypeptide (OATP)-mediated DDIs. Her work uses simplified hypothetical models to explain the limitations of single-dose rifampin and complicated clinical OATP1B substrate disposition in evaluating the pharmacokinetic parameters of OATP1B substrates during rifampin DDIs.
