Earlier this year, and for the first time ever, ASPET held a contest to design the covers for our five journals. We sought original artwork, covering a broad range of pharmacology including, but not limited to, cardiovascular pharmacology, drug discovery and development, molecular pharmacology, neuropharmacology, toxicology, and cancer pharmacology. The selected covers will be used for all of 2026, and the winners received $250 for each winning entry.
We're excited to share our new journal covers for 2026, and the winners who designed them!
The 2026 cover for The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics was designed by Dr. Yasmin Aydin

Dr. Yasmin Aydin is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Qiuyan Chen at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN, studying how arrestins regulate G protein-coupled receptor signaling. Combining structural biology, biochemical approaches, and live-cell methods, she aims to uncover how dynamic receptor-arrestin complexes form and shape cellular responses.
The 2026 cover for Drug Metabolism and Disposition was designed by Taylor Gardner

Taylor Gardner is a first-year PhD student in the Pharmacology Graduate Group at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. She earned her B.S. in Biology with minors in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of North Carolina Asheville in May 2025, where she was also a Division I women’s soccer player. During her undergraduate studies, Taylor conducted research in Dr. Joshua Jackson’s laboratory at Drexel University College of Medicine during summers and winters, and spent her senior year there full-time after Hurricane Helene impacted Asheville. Her research in the Jackson Lab investigated how astrocytic mitochondrial function and dynamics support astrocyte maturation and, ultimately, the development of neuronal synapses. She remains broadly interested in glial biology and neuroscience, aiming to translate molecular insights into therapeutic strategies for neurological and neurodegenerative diseases.
The 2026 covers for ASPET Discovery, Molecular Pharmacology, and Pharmacological Reviews were designed by Dr. Stanislovas Jankauskas

Dr. Stanislovas Jankauskas is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine Division of Cardiology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He studies how mitochondria determine the balance between survival and dysfunction in metabolically active cells. Through imaging and molecular analysis of β-cells, cardiomyocytes, and fibroblasts, his research aims to reveal how mitophagy preserves cellular vitality under metabolic and inflammatory stress.
